BOOKS BeCAUSE! Founder and Author
RUTH BRUBAKER
RIMMER brings her parenting research, her many years of working
with children as a ventriloquist and
puppeteer, and her extensive experience in children’s television
and radio to her newest adventure Books Because! As a mother,
she understands the delights of parenthood and the challenge of
teaching children to do things that aren’t always fun, but
always
important to their development and well-being. Dr. Rimmer is a staff member at the Arizona Burn Center and has worked
with burn surviving children for over twelve years. She
is committed to the prevention of burn injuries through education
for parents and children.

TRICIA MCCAIN
is a freelance graphic artist and illustrator. Tricia received
her BFA from the University of Oregon in visual design.

Bobby's Unbelievable Bathtime
DONNA MCCARTHY received her BFA from the School
of Visual Arts in New York, NY, where she majored in illustration.
She received her MA in education from Northern Arizona University.
After a few years of design work and serving as a curator at several
art galleries she began teaching art, which she has been doing
full time for the past eight years. She is currently teaching high
school art in Kingman, Arizona. |

and Designer, Miguel's Great Escape
SHAWN M. WINCHESTER
received his BFA in Visual Communications from Northern Arizona
University in Flagstaff, Arizona. He has worked as a professional
designer and illustrator for 15 years creating graphics, illustration,
and animation for educational computer programs and the web.
He continues to work in visual communications through his company, ArtEscapes, LLC. Shawn has also been involved in fine arts as an artist and teacher.
His work has been exhibited at the Arizona Museum for Youth and
he has two public art projects installed at Phoenix Children’s
Hospital. Shawn has taught art classes at the Arizona Museum
for Youth, Pueblo Grande Museum, and the Art Institute of Phoenix. |
